Below is a brief look at what our church teaches.

A detailed look at core doctrines of the faith are presented and taught in the Discipleship class offered to every new convert.

The Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired Word of God and that it is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. For reasons of unity within the church and because of its textual reliability, we only use the King James Version of the Bible in our teaching and preaching (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

One God

We believe in one true and living God revealed in the Scriptures as eternally existing in three Persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. This belief is called the Trinity (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 8:6; Mark 12:29; John 14:26; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 John 5:7).

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God born of a virgin; He is true God and true man. He lived a sinless life upon the earth and died a substitionary death for the sins of all mankind; He rose bodily from the grave on the third day; He ascended bodily into Heaven where He continues His ministry at the right hand of God as our Advocate and High Priest; He is personally, visibly and imminently returning to this earth to setup His kingdom (Luke 1:30-55, John 1:1-15; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15; Matthew 1:18-25; 1 John 5:20; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24; Luke 24:36-48; Acts 1:9-11; 1 John 2:1-2; Ephesians 1:20; Matthew 25:31-32; Revelation 20:6).

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Scriptures assign to the Holy Spirit all the attributes of God; that this present era of the church is, in a special way, the dispensation of the Holy Spirit; and that His ministry in the world includes reproving, regeneration, indwelling, guiding, and empowering men (Acts 5:3-4; John 16:7-11; John 3:3-5; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 8:14; Acts 1:8).

Sin

We believe that man was created in the image of God and in his original state made innocent; that by exercise of his own free will he disobeyed God and, thereby, fell into a state of sin and condemnation; Now all of mankind exists as a fallen race, with an inherited sinful nature and are separated from God at the age of accountability, and are in need of a new birth (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 2:16-17; Genesis 3; Romans 5:12-19; Ephesians 2:1-3; John 3:3; Romans 3:10-23; Romans 6:23).

Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace and is received by biblical repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, trusting in His atoning sacrifice at the cross. There is no other means of being saved. God desires to let all people everywhere be saved; but since man has the freedom to choose, God saves only those who repent of their sins and trust Jesus Christ as their personal Savior (Luke 13:3; Isaiah 55:7; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 3:16; John 14:6; John 1:12-13; Acts 4:12; John 5:46-47; Romans 8:29-30; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Timothy 2:3-4; Titus 2:11; 2 Peter 3:9; Revelation 22:17).

Assurance of Salvation & Eternal Security

We believe that all those born again by the Spirit of God are kept by the power of God and are secure in Christ forever. We believe it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the promise of God’s Word; which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to sin (John 1:12; 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1; 8:38-39; I Corinthians 1:4-8; I Peter 1:5; I John 5:13; Romans 13:13-14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15).

The Christian Life

We believe that Christian life is to live a righteous, pure and holy life; that he is called to be a witness for Christ; that he is to be faithful in attending his church; and that he is to support his church by his tithes and offerings (Romans 12:1-2; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 2 Corinthians 5:17-20; Acts 1:8; Hebrews 10:25; Malachi 3:10; Matthew 23:23; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; Titus 2:11-12).

Human Sexuality

(1) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex. (Genesis 2:24; Genesis 19:5,13; Genesis 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4). (2) We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman by mutual covenant (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; 1 Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23). (3) We believe that men and women are spiritually equal in position before God, but that God has ordained distinct and separate spiritual functions for men and women in the home and the church. The husband is to be the leader of the home and the men are to be the leaders (pastors and deacons) of the church. Accordingly, only men are eligible for licensure and ordination by the church (Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:18; 1 Timothy 2:8; 3:4-5, 12).

Abortion

We believe that the human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or populations control, or mental well-being of the mother are acceptable (Job 3:16; Psalms 51:5; 139:14-16; Isaiah 44:24; 49:1,5; Jeremiah 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44).

The Church

We believe that the local church is a group of baptized believer who have voluntarily joined themselves together to carry out the Great Commission. We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures. We believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control (Acts 13:1-4; 15:19-31; 20:28; Rom. 16:1,4; 1 Cor. 3:9,16; 5:4-7, 13; 1 Peter 5:1-4).
